Since 2003, HEC has worked with over 350 clients to help them meet environmental standards. These clients have included surveyors, architects, state government departments, private developers and building certifiers. The projects have ranged from providing the environmental studies needed for complex large rural subdivisions to single lot residential assessments. Frequently, our clients have found it advantageous to as a one stop shop for a range of studies. This proves advantageous for our clients because it avoids overlapping mitigation requirements and works out at a lower cost per report.

Water Cycle Management Study for proposed rural residential subdivision, Mulloon (2008/09)
Assessment of proposed 29 lot rural residential subdivision using MUSIC, incorporating Soil and Site assessment for On-site wastewater Management and Soil and Water Management Plan for Sydney Catchment Authority approval and Bushfire Hazard Assessment for NSW Rural Fire Service Approval. Mitigation included rainwater tanks, grass swales, ponds and fencing out degraded sections of creek for revegetation.
Water Cycle Management Study for proposed rural residential subdivision, Captains Flat (2008)
Assessment of 144 ha rural property for a proposal to subdivide into 5 rural residential lots. MUSIC assessment determined the required length of grass swales, size of rainwater tanks and area of eroded gullies to be fenced as a method of mitigation.
On-Site Wastewater Assessment for rural residential development, Kiama (2009) ECOMAX system proposed to overcome a highly constrained site. Report included plan and cross sections of proposed treatment system incorporating special drainage measures.

Water Cycle Management Study for proposed industrial development site, Mittagong (2008). A WCMS was required to meet SCA approval. The owner’s objective was to maximize the number of lots and the area that could be developed on each lot (roof and hardstanding). HEC modelled various treatment options so the developer could cost these options and find the most effective one that would share these costs with the eventual owners.
Water Cycle Management Study for proposed industrial development, Moss Vale (2008) Assessment of proposed 10 lot industrial development site. MUSIC analysis of pre and post development pollutant loads. Mitigation includes bioretention swales, bioretention basins and rainwater tanks.
Water Cycle Management Study for proposed shopping centre, Goulburn (2007) MUSIC analysis of pre and post development pollutant loads, incorporating car park bioretention swales to manage pollutants.
Water Cycle Management Study for proposed 28 lot urban development, Goulburn (2009) MUSIC analysis of pre and post development pollutant loads in accordance with Sydney Catchment Authority Regional Environment Plan. The SCA pollutant targets were met by incorporating on-lot bioretention basins, road side swales and water tanks into the proposed development.
