In particular, an emergency/evacuation plan is considered an important component of the strategy to plan for any bushfire risk. The consent authority is the local council but only after the RFS has issued a BUSHFIRE SAFETY AUTHORITY.

Stormwater Management

We prepare Stormwater Management Plans for residential dwellings, sheds ect. The SMP is required by Council as a part of the documentation requirements for a development application. The SMP is focused on managing the quantity (volume and flow rate) of rainwater runoff from the property, primarily to prevent flooding and damage. Since new impervious surfaces like roofs and driveways increase the speed and volume of runoff, the plan usually mandates the inclusion of On-Site Detention (OSD) systems. The main goal of OSD is to ensure that the maximum stormwater discharge leaving the property does not exceed the volume or rate that occurred before development (pre-development discharge), particularly during significant rainfall events. Our civil engineer will design the size of the rainwater tank and soil absorption trenches using DRAINS to meet the specific council requirements.

In the example shown storm water from the exterior hard stand surfaces needed to be treated by biotension basin, sediment basin and constructed wetlands. Where as the wash down water from the putresible waste management system required an anaerobic treatment system followed by constructed wetland.
